THIS REUNION WILL BE PLANNED AROUND THE BUILDING OF THE NATIONAL FLIGHT ACADEMY AND THE 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF NAVAL AVIATION

Some activities that are being talked about now that we hope will occur during this 100th Anniversary celebration will be:

            The LHD USS Iwo Jima (large deck expeditionary aircraft carrier that was commissioned in Pensacola in 2001) will be in port for a week for the May 2011 events

            A Coast Guard cutter will be in Pensacola for a port visit

            We are hoping for the commissioning of the newest Arleigh Burke DDG, USS William P. Lawrence to be held this month

            A full-scale flyable replica of the Curtis A-1 Triad (first Navy aircraft) will be in flown at Pensacola Naval Air Station weather conditions permitting

            The Albany Flyer (first shipboard flight) will be in Pensacola and will be flown daily, conditions permitting

            A top name concert is being considered as part of the festivities

            The USS Iwo Jima will stand out in Pensacola Bay as a center point for the Blue Angels, Marine Corps and Coast Guard flight demonstrations

            The Blue Angels will fly on May 3rd and May 4th
